For a birthday party this weekend I decided to bring a wine bottle, but I wanted to dress it up and give the birthday girl something she could use. I figured I would crochet a wine tote. There are a ton of patterns online and I blended a couple to make my own.
Shell Wine Tote Pattern
Ch 3
Round 1: Work 6 sc into chain
Round 2: Work 2 sc into each sc around (I used a safety pin to mark the end of each round)
Round 3: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc; rep from * around
Round 4: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from * around
Round 5: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc; rep from * around
Round 6: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 4 sc; rep from * around
Round 7: *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc; rep from * around; you should have 42 stitches
Round 9: work sc in back loops only of each sc around; join with sl st in back loop of first sc
Round 10: *skip 2 stitches, work 5 dc in next stitch, skip 2 stitches, sc in next stitch* repeat around, working sc in last stitch
Round 11: Chain 4, *sc in top of 3rd dc, chain 2, skip 2 stitches, dc in top of sc, chain 2, skip 2 stitches, repeat from * to end working 1 dc into chain
Round 12: Chain 2, *skip 2 stitches, sc in top of sc, skip 2 stitches, 5 dc into top of dc, repeat from * to last sc, skip 2 stitches, 3 dc in chain.
Round 13: Chain 3, *skip 2 stitches, 1 dc in top of sc, chain 2, skip 2 stitches, sc in top of 3rd dc, chain 2, repeat from * to end ending with 1 sc into chain
Round 14: Chain 1, *skip 2 stitches, 5 dc in top of dc, skip 2 stitches, sc in top of sc, repeat from * to end.
Repeat Rounds 10-14 til you like the length. Remember this pattern may stretch a lot so check it with a wine bottle in it.
Next Round: chain 2 *sc in top of 3rd dc, chain 2, skip 2 stitches, dc in top of sc, chain 2, skip 2 stitches, repeat from * to end working 1 dc into chain
Round: sc in each stitch;
Repeat 4 rounds

Round 1: sc in 7 stitches, chain 10, skip 14 stitches, sc in 7 stitches, chain 10, skip 14 stitches, join with sl st in first sc
Round 2: sc in each sc, work 14 sc into chain, sc in each sc, work 14 sc into chain, join with sl st in first sc
Round 3: sc in 7 stitches, dc into 14 stitches, sc into 7 stitches, dc into 14 st, join with sl st in first sc
Round 4: repeat round 3
Round 5: sc in each stitch around, end with sl st in first sc, tie off
I added a rose to the top using the 5-petal Flower from Ska Mama's blog. Then I made some wine lollipops using this recipe and wrote out labels with quotes about wine on each. Tying them together with another rose.
